Been a while since posting. The semester went really well. Lots of coffee, I think I’ve formed an unhealthy addiction. It’s so good! I’m french pressing like a fool. Happy to be finally getting back to my websites. Continue reading

Alright guys, in part 1 we discussed eating the right foods. This is by far the absolute most important part to getting lean and mean. If you missed part 1 you can find it HERE:
The next idea I’ll be discussing is nutrient timing and carbohydrate cycling. I first learned this concept from John Berardi. Carbohydrates are excellent for gaining weight and helping build muscle mass but can be our worst enemy when trying to lean out for the summer. Looking through the list of foods that can be eaten whenever and in moderation in Part 1 of this series you’ll notice we aren’t eating any foods heavy in carbohydrates. This is for good reason. These are the best foods for getting lean. Continue reading

Beautiful time of the year to be training. The birds are chirping, sun is shining, Greg’s mustache is glistening in the daylight. My strength is going back up, as well as everyone else’s at Llama Bash. Just the other day we had a cow bench press 315 for reps. The chickens are looking beefy too.

It’s that time of year again! For the women, bikini season is around the corner, for the men, thong swimwear. (at least that’s what I wear) . Anyway, soon enough it will be beach season and you don’t want to be the person at the beach wearing a t-shirt wishing you had a better body.
As we all know nutrition is paramount to looking good, losing bodyfat and looking lean and mean. It can get complicated. I wanted to compile a reference of what I would call the most important dietary guidelines to getting ready for beach season. It doesn’t have to be complicated. Continue reading

Ouch, hope those knees are holding in there.
The foot plays an integral role in knee health and preventing pain and injury. Last week we talked about why, this week we’ll discuss what we can do about it.

New Baby goat at PopesGardens. Loves Steph.
Back to the usual shenanigans at Llama Bash. I’m there twice per week now. Back with Matt and Greg, back doing ridiculous stuff that makes the little leaguers next door laugh at us. Feels good to be home. Looking to drive my strength back up while getting better conditioned. That’s a pretty tall order and I think I’m probably going to have to be satisfied with small gains because those two goals are a bit contradictory. Continue reading
